Club members are invited to be part of our annual turkey giveaway on Saturday, Novebmer 19th from 10 am - 1 pm. We will give out turkeys and grocery gift cards to deserving families. Please contact Sherri if you are able to participate in this holiday tradition.

We will not meet on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 so that our members and guests may enjoy the Thanksgiving week with family and friends.

We are excited to resume our annual tradition (in person!) of hosting a holiday party for the children who attend CAPE Headstart Preschool in Livermore. The children and their families are invited to the Veterans Hall, 522 South L Street, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm, on Sunday, December 4.

Rotarians are invited to show up at 11:30 to set up and/or to stay after the party for clean up. Please contact George Wineinger with any questions.

All club members are also invited to donate new socks and/or underwear, sizes 4-6X. Please deliver these items or have them sent to Lauren Franzella at 1043 Wynn Circle by Friday, November 18.

We welcome George Duarte, MBA, CMC who will share his expertise about options for purchasing and refinancing during our current real estate market conditions. George is the broker/owner of Wentworth Enterprises, Inc. He has had his Broker's license since 1992 and has been involved in mortgage loans since 1986. George is the 2022 recipient of both the SF Bay Area Better Business Bureau Torch Award for Ethics and the Best Mortage Broker in the Western Refion from the National Association of Mortgage Brokers.

We also welcome George as a sponsor of our club, sponsoring both the First and Second Annual Chili Cook Off events.

All club members and guests are invited to celebrate the holiday season by gathering a Wood Family Winery on Tuesday, December 13. We will enjoy delicious wine, dinner, and have some fun holiday activities.

Our annual tradition of helping our local veterans celebrate the holidays continues on Thursday, December 15th, when we will bring lunch to those at the VA Medical Center. Contact Graham Scott if you are interested in participating in this event.

We will use our first meeting of the year to come together as a club to discuss how we can increase our service to our community.

We welcome speakers from Special Olympics of Northern California, who will share information and opportunities of this outstanding program. Randy Young, Senior Development Director, and Tyler Krochmal, Director of the Athlete Leadership Program, will provide us with an overview of the program. We will hear from Special Olympics Athlete Jonathan Sparks about his experiences in the program and as an athlete leader.

We welcome the recipients of our Fall 2022 Grant Program! We will hear from each of them, briefly, about how our funding will positively impact their work.

We welcome Daniel Curtis, President of the Alameda County Chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Daniel will update us on the efforts of this nonprofit organization to provide beds for children, and he will share with us opportunities for involvement.

We will meet at the Faculty Cafeteria in Building 1600 at Las Positas College, 3000 Campus Hill Dr. We will hear from College President Dyrell Foster as well as Director of the LPC Foundation, Kenneth Cooper, and LPC Student Government President and Student Trustee, Lara Weidemeir. We will also tour several campus buildings include the Veterans First Building and the new Horticulture Building.

Members must RSVP to reserve a spot. We will each pay $20 to cover the cost of breakfast.

We welcome Josh Jonas, President of Arukah, a local nonprofit whose mission is to to help men who are dealing with the realities of homelessness due to loss of job, being recently released from prison, addictions, or lack of family support. We are all invited to join in the fun of the 67th Annual Crab Feed, presented by our fellow Rotarians, the Rotary Club of Livermore. Jeff Ribera, Development Director at Monthly Miracles, joins us to provide an overview and update of the services provided by this nonprofit homeless ministry in Livermore.

We welcome Bob Bishop who will share the mission and actions of Benefits for Fallen Heroes, a nonprofit organization that supports families of fallen military and law enforcement personnel who die in the line of duty. This organization invites members of the community to show gratitude to fallen heroes and stand with these families during this very difficult time.

Shred the Past . . . Look to the Future!

The Rotary Club of Livermore Valley invites community members to bring unwanted documents to a free shredding event. This is great timing for safely and privately destroying financial and legal papers that are no longer needed.

Event will be held Sunday, April 23, from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm at Tri-Valley Car Care lot at 1737 First St, across from Zephyr Grill.

Rotarians are encouraged to volunteer to help at the event. Community members will watch as their containers are unloaded and contents shredded. Containers will be returned.

We are inviting community members to donate for this service, so that we can continue to support our community grants and service projects.

Our club is proud to host the 2023 Awards Ceremony for recipients of the Rotarian Foundation of Livermore's annual Community Grant awards. Members of the Rotary Club of Livermore and grant winners will be invited to this special celebration.
