Our club is proud to support the international Wheelchair Foundation during our 2021-22 club year!

We encourage club and community members to donate $150 to provide a wheelchair to an individual who lacks mobility. Our simple donation can change the entire quality of life for an individual.

The Rotary Club of Livermore Valley has selected the Wheelchair Foundation as our 2021-22 International Project. With the help of donations from individuals such as us, the Wheelchair Foundation provides wheelchairs to people in need all around the world.

Our International Chair, Leslie Lemieux, reminds us that there are many individuals throughout the word who are unable to use their legs to walk. They may need to crawl on the ground or be carried by a family member or friend in order to get around. Imagine how difficult life becomes without mobility and without having the aid of a wheelchair. Unfortunately, this situation exists too often for disabled individuals in under-privileged areas.

What an opportunity we have to give someone the gift of mobility and freedom! A tax-deductible donation of $150 provides one wheelchair to someone in need.

Anyone can make a donation by visiting the Rotary District 5170 Wheelchair Foundation Donation Portal. If you prefer, checks can be mailed to: The Wheelchair Foundation, 3820 Blackhawk Road, Danville, CA 94506.

Club members who make a donation, please let Leslie know so that we can keep track of our progress toward our goal of providing 20 wheelchairs to people in need this year. Please email Leslie when you've made a donation: (llemieux.ll62@gmail.com)
