President Kevin McCallum and Community Service Director David Goulart represent our club as they present a $10,000 check to Christine Dillman, Acting Executive Director of Tri-Valley Haven, to support the new Domestic Violence Safety Shelter that will provide a safe place for families in crisis. We are proud to be able to support this local nonprofit that provides safety and support to individuals and families in times of crisis.

At the weekly meeting on December 6, 2022, the Rotary Club of Livermore Valley showed its support of our community by donating to Tri-Valley Haven. Rotary Club President Kevin McCallum said, “Our club is thankful to be a part of rebuilding and improving Tri-Valley Haven’s facilities.” The generous contribution was possible through fundraising efforts such as the Annual Chili Cook Off and through donations from club members. “Our Rotary club is focused on fundraising and service for the Livermore community,” said McCallum.

Tri-Valley Haven’s goal is to rebuild its domestic violence shelter to ensure local families in crisis will have a safe place to call home for decades to come. “We sincerely thank the Morning Rotary Club of the Livermore Valley for their incredible support of our new Domestic Violence Safety Shelter,” said Christine Dillman, Acting Executive Director. “This vital donation will provide beds and mattresses for survivors and their children in our new shelter, ensuring families in need are safe, warm and protected,” Dillman stated.

Tri-Valley Haven currently runs the only confidential domestic violence shelter in the Tri-Valley and the only one that accepts teenage boys as part of families. Unfortunately, after so many years of housing families, the current shelter is physically falling apart. To meet the local need, Tri-Valley Haven will expand capacity to 45 beds; the new shelter will help 50% more households, individuals and children to flourish and attain self-sufficiency. Dedicated play areas and therapy, group and quiet rooms will also be added. For more information on Tri-Valley Haven, please visit their website at trivalleyhaven.org.
