The Rotary Club of Livermore Valley is proud to be the Home Club of the 2024-25 District 5170 Governor Jill Duerig. Her leadership will inspire the thousands of Rotarians in the 64 clubs located in Alameda, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and San Benito counties that comprise District 5170.
Jill has been a member of our club since 2005. She is an active and engaged community leader and we are proud to be able to support her!
A Rotarian since 2003, Jill served as Livermore Valley Club President in 2019-2020. She has also served as Assistant Governor for Area 4, Lieutenant Governor: Avenues of Service, and District Governor Nominee and Elect.
Jill is a retired General Manager of Zone 7 Water Agency in Livermore and a former General Manager/Chief Engineer for Scotts Valley Water District. Her career in providing safe water inspires her involvement in the Haiti National Clean Water Sanitation and Hygiene Strategy (HANWASH), a partnership with the WASH Rotary Action Group, other NGOs, and the government of Haiti.
Livermore Valley Rotary Club members were on hand at the July 13th District event where outgoing District Governor and Cupertino Mayor Hung Wei passed the baton to Jill. Club President Beth McCormick is excited to serve during Jill’s year as District Governor. “Jill is an outstanding role model and mentor. She set the standard for developing a strategic plan for our Rotary club, which continues to have an impact on our club’s success. I am excited to support her leadership focus on respect and diversity,” said McCormick.
As District Governor, Jill encourages all Rotarians to find their passion among the Avenues of Service Rotary International support. She offers her support as clubs develop strategic plans to fulfill the mission of Rotary in their communities.
