Fall & Spring Grants

Twice a year, in November and May, we award grants to deserving community organizations whose work aligns with our mission as Rotarians. We are grateful to be able to extend our reach into the community by partnering with our grant recipients.

Individual awards typically range from $300 - $1,000. Larger grants may be available on a case by case basis. Grants are awarded to organizations; grants to benefit an individual person are only given as an exception.

To apply for a grant, please download and complete the Rotary Club of Livermore Valley Grant Application and email it, along with the project budget and project description (if more space is needed than is on the application) to Grant Chair Sarah Palmer and livermorevalleyrotaryclub@gmail.com.

Fall Grant applications are due by the last Friday in October.

Spring Grant applications are due by the last Friday in April.

Criteria for Evaluation:

1. Program was not funded in the previous grant cycle.

2. Program is self-sustaining with other funding (not reliant on RCLV).

3. Grant request is for a tangible item. This is not a grant to provide general programmatic funding or to pay salaries.

4. Project serves the Tri-Valley Community. Please be clear on this in your application.

5. Preference is given to communities such as youth, seniors, veterans, or low income groups but not to the exclusion of other well-deserving projects.

4. Applicant must be sponsored by a Rotary Club of Livermore Valley member. Please contact us if you need a sponsor; a list of available members will be provided. This will help you to write a better grant application.

5. If you are applying as an applicant from the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD), please obtain and submit an approval from your principal or other administrator.

6. A budget for the proposal must be included. This is a budget for how you will spend the grant funding (not an overall budget of your organization).

For education-related grant applications, The Rotary Club of the Livermore Valley will share information with the Livermore Valley Education Foundation (LVEF) to determine eligibility for LVEF and/or RCLV funding. Application information will then be shared with Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District to determine if there is funding through the District that would replace or augment an RCLV or LVEF grant award.

Fall Grants Support Our Community

We proudly awarded our Fall Grants to six deserving community organizations that helped us further our mission to serve the diversity of Livermore residents.

Culinary Angels, Granada High School Safe & Sober Grad Night, Partners for Change, Shepherd's Gate, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, and System Overload Explorer Post 987 Robotics were this fall's top applicants.

Spring Grants Support Our Community

Our club was proud to award $7,732 in grants to support local schools and nonprofits during our 2023 Spring Grant Program.

Our community grants help us fulfill our mission of serving our community. We are grateful to our sponsors and to community members who participate in our fundraisers, especially the Annual Chili Cook Off, as well as to our members for funding these grants. And we are proud to partner with these organizations to improve the quality of life for members of our community.

Supporting Our Community with Grants

We were proud to award over $6,000 in grants to local organizations at our January 17th meeting. Thanks to the leadership of Grant Chair, Sarah Palmer, our Fall Grant Program supported the work of six groups, enabling us to fulfill our mission of serving others.

Spring Grants Awarded!

Our club awarded over $4,000 in grants to community organizations that support our club's mission to serve our community. This spring's awards focused on serving youth as well as other nonprofits. We are proud to partner with these groups to extend our reach.

We were proud to award almost $6,000 in grants to local schools and organizations during our November 30th meeting. Thanks to the leadership of Grant Chair, Sarah Palmer, we supported the work of seven groups, enabling us to fulfill our mission of serving others.

Fall Grant Applications

Fall Grant applications were due Tuesday, October 12, 2021. We will be reviewing and announcing the recipients within the next several weeks.

The Rotary Club of Livermore Valley awarded almost $6,000 to community organizations to enhance our positive impact throughout our community. This year's awards were given in loving memory of longtime Rotarian and Grant Chair, Rosemary Almand.
