The Weekly Meeting Summary of the Rotary Club of Livermore Valley

  • President Sherri Simoni called the meeting to order at 9:18

  • Jill did a great job leading us in the Pledge of Allegiance

    and was our substitute Greeter
  • Song of the Day - Ed Schumann selected "Under Pressure" in recognition of all of the stress we share during this hectic time of year :)

  • Thought of the Day - Dick Fields provided several thoughts, and here's a sample "If you can't be positive, at least stay quiet"

  • Joke of the Day - Roy was substituting for Graham as the orator, but Graham supplied the silly jokes, Thanks to both!

  • Visiting Rotarians:  Our very own, Bob Tucknott from the Dublin club, and David Rounds from the Livermore Club

  • Guests: Principal from Granada High School, Clark Conover with the Student of the month, Tanner Gray.  With special attendance from Tanner's Mom Jeannie.  All gracefully introduced by Suzanne Richerson.

    • Mini-Grant recipients were introduced during the program.

Principal Clark Conover introduced Tanner Gray, an accomplished athlete and scholar with a GPA of 4.4++  He is this year's Granada Homecoming King, elected by his fellow students.  He shared his appreciation for the recognition and said he is seeking a college that serves great food.

Dick Fields Dick Fields $10 Grateful for being able to host his grandson on Thanksgiving, plus his grandson passed a challenging set of tests to become an Investment Banking Representative

Football Follies
Jill is back in the lead, followed closely by Tom Marcel and David Best.  Still in the running for a Wildcard spot are Ed Schumann, Bob Tucknott and Kevin McCallum
Benefit Concert
December 9, join the noon club as they raise funds for their music scholarship program. At the Bothwell Arts Center beginning at 7:00pm two very talented guitarists, Richard Smith and Teja Gerken will perform.  Tickets are $30 in advance from Einstein & Me, or $35 at the door.  Don't miss it.
The Chili Cookoff
Proceeds were $17,991, great work everyone
