OPENING THE MEETING
  • President Sherri Simoni called the meeting to order for the final time as president at 8:21 AM, after we enjoyed a breakfast buffet that she provided!

  • Dick Fields led us in the Pledge of Allegiance

    • Dick and Peter Uberroth used to deliver newspapers together in Burlingame, back in middle and early high school.

  • Song of the Day - We rocked out to "Summer in the City" by The Lovin' Spoonful, Philomena Rambo's choice in honor of the first day of summer coming this week.

  • Thought of the Day - Dave Goulart shared a thought on behalf of James Marasco: "People who want to see you win will help you."

  • Joke of the Day - Bob Tucknott tried out a bunch of jokes and finally gave up when even he didn't get the one he was reading!

VISITING ROTARIANS & GUESTS
  • Visiting Rotarian: Jackie Mirisciotta introduced Bob Tucknott, Classification Electrical Contractor, visiting us from the Dublin Club

  • Guests:

    • Mony Nop introduced John Freeman, District Manager for Cal Water, joining us as a guest for the final time (since he became a member today!)

    • Mony introduced Matt Vining, District Superintendent at Cal Water

    • Rich Goldstein introduced Sarah Thorvund, from Wall and Ceiling Alliance.

NEW MEMBER INDUCTION: WELCOME JOHN!
 
Membership Chair Jeannette Albiez led the induction of John Freeman, the newest member of our club and of Rotary International! John is joining us in the Classification of Water Management. Thanks to Mony Nop for recommending John to our club and for serving as his sponsor.
 
John currently serves as the District Manager of California Water Service Company (Cal Water). He began his career at Cal Water after attending St. Mary's High School and San Joaquin Delta College. He has 37 years of experience in the water industry, with 26 years serving in a management role. He is a Certified Water Treatment and Water Distribution Operator.
 
John is active in the community, currently serving as a Board Director to the San Joaquin County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Livermore Valley Chamber of Commerce, Board Director to Uncle Credit Union, Board Director to Stockton Rod & Gun Club, and Board Director for El Concilio California Academies. He also volunteers at many community events and nonprofit organizations.
 
John was born and raised in Stockton, where he lives today with his wife, Jamie. Together, they have four children and six grandchildren. In his free time, John enjoys golf, fishing, watching baseball, and playing pool.

  • Let Suzanne Richerson know if you would like to attend the annual RYLA BBQ on Thursday, June 27. This event showcases the leadership training of the Interactors during their week at camp.
 
  • Everyone is encouraged to join in this year's District 5170 Roast & Toast - as we all welcome our own Jill Duerig as incoming District Governor!
