TODAY'S PROGRAM: John Reynolds from the Livermore Police Department
John discussed the challenges of hiring new officers for the police department. The process starts with a 35 page application which includes all places lived, marriages, education, family, previous employment and much more! Only 10 candidates are hired out of 300+ applications. Filling dispatch jobs is just a hard. Only 2 candidates were selected out of 1400 applicants! There are on average 100, 911 calls every day. Dispatchers have a hard job. Our Livermore police department has a great reputation and retention rates are extremely high.
Great job Captain John!
