TODAY'S PROGRAM: Global Uplift Project
Bob Freeman, one of our club's newest members, started the Global Uplift Project in 2016. Since its inception there have been 700+ classrooms around the world in 26 developing countries.
The first one was in Africa built with $1 donations from high school students in Los Altos, 9000 of them! The projects require 20% participation from the receiving community.
It costs approximately 70 cents per day to put a student in a classroom in Nepal. Every dollar you donate goes into the project because foundations pay for operating costs.
Another project is Clean water for Africa. It provides point of service purification systems for each school, and costs about 53 cents per child per year.
Science Lab in a Box is the latest project developed and it provides all of the equipment, curriculum, and chemicals for Biology, Chemistry & Physics education. It's currently being introduced in Uganda
The Global Uplift Project has a 4 Star rating from Charity Navigator
Their mission is to provide "Low cost, high impact projects". A quote from a beneficiary: Even the greatest waterfall starts with a single drop of water…
