TODAY'S 10-SPOT

ANNOUNCEMENTS

* Welcome home David Bedford!

* This year’s Thanksgiving Distribution, we will partner with Tri-Valley Haven and it will be coordinated with CAPE.  Tri-Valley Haven has many volunteer opportunities to sort and bag food and/ or gifts, etc. See email contact Natali, Tri-Valley Haven’s Volunteer Coordinator (Natali@trivalleyhaven.org).

Tri-Valley Haven is registering clients in need (anyone from Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin or Sunol who is in economic need) on Monday, Wednesday & Saturday from 1 – 4 pm at Tri-Valley Haven’s Food Pantry, 150 North L Street, Livermore.

Registrations will close after Monday, November 18, 2024. This is the last day of registration for the TVH Holiday Program so TVH can prepare for Thanksgiving and ensure we have enough gifts and food for the December holiday program. We typically serve ~800+ families, or 3,000+ individuals

TVH will provide CAPE clientele with applications so they will not need to come to food pantry to sign up.

Here are the distribution dates:

Monday, November 25 at 9 am – 6 pm – Thanksgiving Food Giveaway, Asbury Church

Thursday, December 12 & Saturday, December 14 at 9 am – 6 pm – Holiday Gift & Food Distribution, Asbury Church (by appointment).

* Goodness Village Dinner is Wednesday November 6 5:30-7:00 pm

* President-Elect for Rotary Club of Livermore Valley

Nominee Mony Nop

The vote is November 12

This is an open call for any other interested members to let Kevin McCallum know they want to be a nominee

TODAY'S PROGRAM: Diwali and Hinduism
Our speaker today was Gaurav Rastogi from the Hindu Temple of Livermore.  He's been living in te US for 25 years and is now an "empty nester".  He started the presentation by leading us through a quiet meditation.

His talk is entitled A Long Civilizational Memory-An Introduction to Sanatana Dharma.

An important quote from today's talk “We are born with a capacity for selflessness that must be invoked through example and initiation into the spiritual realm”  Do you make a choice that is good or pleasant?
