CIARA TERRY - MAY STUDENT OF THE MONTH
Mr. Hart introduced Ciara as the friendliest, most inquisitive student at Granada High School. We were impressed by her academic accomplishments as well as her extracurricular commitments as a soccer player and track and field athlete.
When Ciara graduates in June, she will earn not only the Granada High School Diploma issued by LVJUSD and the State of California, but she will also be among those across the world who earn an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma.
Six deserving community organizations received support from our club this spring through our twice annual grants program. Above, students from Mrs. Wyosnick's class at Sunset Elementary School thank us for providing them with a light table and manipulatives to enhance their hands-on learning opportunities.
We awarded grants to the Freshmen in Transition (FIT) Program at Granada High School; the Livermore High School Ceramics Program; System Overload Explorer Post 987; Tri-Valley Nonprofit Alliance; Choose Love Livermore; and Sunset Elementary School.
Thanks to Sarah Palmer for leading the work of the grant committee!
There's still time to join the 2022 Rotary International Convention by participating virtually! You can enjoy livestreamed presentations and then participate in breakout rooms with Rotarians from around the globe.
Sessions offered Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday, June 6-8:
Shout out to our 2021-22 President-Elect Dick Quigley for doing an outstanding job of bringing speakers to our club meetings this year. We enjoyed learning from so many different community members!
