OPENING THE MEETING
President Mony Nop called the meeting to order at 8:15 AM
Pledge of Allegiance - Rich Goldstein led us in the pledge
Song of the Day - Deb Tacker led us in "Country Roads" by John Denver
Thought of the Day - Leslie Lemieux helped us learn about Valley Forge in celebration of America's 250th birthday/anniversary
Joke of the Day - Jill Duerig entertained us with many water-related jokes!

Bob Tucknott, from the Rotary Club of Dublin joined us this morning, and was introduced by Brook Witherspoon

Pia Holliday is back in town, and has submitted her application to the group. Pia was introduced by Bennie LeBourvellec
Mony introduced his wife Sophie, and his executive assistant Danielle, thanking them for helping him for his first meeting as our President
Emily Wilson, from Tri-Valley NonProfit Association (TVNPA). TVNPA will be a new corporate member with Emily as our regular attendee
Elizabeth Sanches from Heritage Estates, introduced by Charles Crohare
Sue Swift, new retiree from LLNL, introduced by Terri DeLima
New Corporate Member Proposed - Tri-Valley NonProfit Alliance
Tri-Valley NonProfit Alliance (TVNPA) is being proposed as a new corporate member, with Emily Wilson, Community Outreach and Program Coordinator for the organization, as the TVNPA representative to our Club.
All paperwork has been submitted, and through an email meeting, our club’s board voted unanimously to approve the proposal. Per our Bylaws, this information is being published this week and will also be published next week in The Grapevine. If any club member has a question about the proposal, please contact Membership Chair Bennie Le Bourvellec. If no objections are received by July 22, we will move forward with installing TVNPA as a new corporate member, and welcoming Emily to our club!
New Member Proposed - Pia Holliday
Pia Holliday is being proposed as a new member. She has joined us for several meetings.
All paperwork has been submitted, and through an email meeting, our club’s board voted unanimously to approve the proposal. Per our Bylaws, this information is being published this week and will also be published next week in The Grapevine. If any club member has a question about the proposal, please contact Membership Chair Bennie Le Bourvellec. TODAY'S PROGRAM: Introducing Club Leadership for the new Rotary Year, and New Member Induction
President Mony Nop introduced all the new board members this year, and each board member told us a little about themselves. Mony shared his goals for the Club for the year, and welcomed us all to join in for a successful year. (Not shown: Rich Goldstein, Ambassadors of Compassion)
Past President Sarah thanked the Club for a wonderful year, and a fun demotion.
Bennie also led us in our formal induction of Brook Witherspoon, our newest member. We heard Brook's story last time we were together, and today she was sworn in. Welcome, Brook.
TODAY'S 10-SPOT
One of the ways our Club raises money is by "buying" a $10-spot on an imaginary 100 square board. Anyone can donate $10.00 or more, to brag, announce, share concerns or milestones and sadness with our Club. It's our way of getting to know each other better, share our common paths, and at the same time, raising money. We have raised $86,000 since we started this fundraiser several years ago.
Each time a board is filled, we spin a wheel, and the person who is the "winner" of the spin gets to choose one of three places to donate the next board. It can be donated back to our Club's Restricted Fund, to the Rotarian Foundation of Livermore (RFL), or to Rotary International (RI) for the important work of Rotary around the world.
Today we started Board 87, and the proceeds of this board will go to the Club's Restricted Funds. This funds our Club's Community Service Projects.

50/50 RAFFLE
To participate in the 50/50 raffle, please contact Charles Crohare, our Treasurer. For $5.00/week, you are entered into a 50/50 raffle each week. If you win, you can have your 50% given back to your own account while the other half goes back to the Club's General Operating Fund.
Approximately 32 of our members now participate weekly.
