PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Hello Fellow Rotarians, Friends, and Neighbors,

In February, we saw growth in our membership, learned from some of the area experts from SFO Airport, Visit Tri-Valley, Innovation Tri-Valley and Daybreak Labs. We had a successful fundraiser - The Crab Grab,  and we have 3 new members joining in March. The momentum of our club is undeniably positive, engaging and fun. Thank you to all our members,  guests, speakers and supporters for making this club the best it can be.

On a sad note, we recently lost one of our founding club members and a major contributor to the youth of Livermore, Kevin Drake. As a fairly newcomer to Rotary, I was only able to work side by side with him for a few years, but he was the most loving and kind man, a role model and friend to many, and dedicated to bringing out the excellence in everyone. His presence in our community will be felt for many years, and I hope his memory lives on in the hearts of those he touched for even longer.

Please join with me to keep Vickie and their family in your thoughts and prayers.

Yours in Rotary,

Sherri Simoni

News and Upcoming Events
CELEBRATING THE STUDENT OF THE MONTH

Principal Clark Conover introduced us to star student and athlete, NaVaughn Long at our February 20th club meeting. We enjoyed hearing about NaVaughn's commitment to excellence as well as his compassionate nature, which we think combine to make him a future Rotarian!

As a four-year varsity basketball player for Granada, NaVaughn has showcased his exceptional talent and leadership on the court. Last year, he played a pivotal role in leading the GHS team to victory in the Northern Regional Division 1 Boys Basketball Championship, which qualified the team for a spot in the California State Championship game.

His accolades, including being recognized as the Most Valuable Player in the Edison Classic Basketball Tournament and Tri-Valley's Athlete of the Week, highlight his exceptional talent. NaVaughn's passion for basketball is evident in every game he plays, and his joy and love for the sport inspire all who have the privilege of watching him on the court.

Beyond his outstanding contributions as a student athlete, NaVaughn is always willing to lend a helping hand to his friends and classmates. His positive attitude and infectious enthusiasm brighten the lives of those around him.
