All Rotarians are invited to participate in the Kids Against Hunger food packing event! AG Tami will be leading this event with our Area 4B neighboring Rotary Clubs on Saturday November 4th from 10-11:30 am (with lunch to follow!) These nutritious food packs get sent to areas of crisis in the U.S. and abroad. It's a really fun and rewarding activity, and kids 2nd grade and up are welcome. We join with the Rotarian Foundation of Livermore to bring holiday cheer to children who attend CAPE Headstart Preschool. This is a club service event. All members are encouraged to participate. The event is Sunday, December 3, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm in the Larkspur Room of the Robert Livermore Community Center. Rotarians will set up and tear down, as well. All community members are invited to meet Kevin Adler, Rotarian, Founder and CEO of Miracle Messages, and author of When We Walk By: Forgotten Humanity, Broken Systems, and the Role We Can Each Play in Ending Homelessness in America. In partnership with Goodness Village, CrossWinds Church is opening their doors on Monday, December 4 to celebrate the release of the book. Join the event for an inspiring evening that includes captivating stories, engaging conversations, and book signings. In conversation with Kim Curtis, Executive Director of Goodness Village, Kevin will share stories and insight into the human crisis of homelessness.
Admission is free. Light refreshments will be served.

We are honored to welcome Kevin Adler, Founder and CEO of Miracle Messages, to provide us with important insight into the crisis of homelessness. Kevin will discuss his latest book, When We Walk By: Forgotten Humanity, Broken Systems, and the Role We can Each Play in Ending Homelessness in America. Since 2014, Kevin has led Miracle Messages, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people experiencing homelessness rebuild their social support systems and financial security, primarily through family reunifications, a phone buddy program, and basic income pilots. Kevin’s work has been featured widely, including in the New York Times, Washington Post, PBS NewsHour, and in his TED Talk. Kevin will bring copies of his book that we can purchase and have him sign. If your schedule allows, we encourage you to meet Kevin, in conversation with Kim Curtis, Executive Director of Goodness Village, at CrossWinds Church on Monday, December 4, 6:00 - 8:00 pm. All club members and their +1 are invited to celebrate the holidays at Dave and June Bedford's house on Tuesday, December 12, starting at 5:00 pm. Dinner will be served at 5:45. $35 per person includes a buffet dinner, dessert, and a hosted bar, including non-alcoholic drinks. In addition to enjoying each other's company, we will have fun with a White Elephant Gift Exchange. Anyone who wants to participate should bring a wrapped, new gift, valued at approximately $25. We are thrilled to be able to return in person to bring holiday cheer to local veterans in the Livermore VA Hospital, following the Covid years of not being able to visit with the veterans to hear their stories and share our support. We will bring lunch and have some time to visit on Wednesday, December 13, starting at 11:00 a.m. Please email Graham Scott if you are interested in being part of our club's outreach at this annual event. |

We welcome Erna Grasz, who, along with her co-founders, Emmy Moshi, and Hellen Nkuraiya, launched Asante Africa Foundation in 2007. Asante Africa Foundation is a locally-led and globally-supported nonprofit organization that educates East Afrida's youth. The Foundation uses a Learn-Do-Teach model and a Pay-it-Forward philosophy to enable young people to learn, practice, and teach essential life and career skills.
