We welcome Ann Brown, Schools Outreach Director for TVAQCA - Tri-Valley Air Quality Climate Alliance - who will share about the Miyawaki Forest Project in Livermore.

Ann Brown has trained with Green Pocket Forest and has attended the first International Symposium for Miyawaki Forests in Japan. She is now networked with Miyawaki Forest Makers around the world. Ann also draws on years of experience with teaching, curriculum development, and native plant and horticulture experience. 

Dr. Cathia Walters, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, will help us on the road to wellness by teaching us goal setting and meditation techniques.

We are excited to hear from Dr. Walters, especially as she is one of our newest club members!

We welcome Eric Moore, Deputy Fire Chief for the Alameda County Fire Department, who will update us on fire department support services and communications.

And we welcome Principal Clark Conover from Granada High School with the February Student of the Month!

President Beth McCormick will lead us in a club assembly. We are having a productive year, and Beth seeks our input to making this our best year yet.

We welcome Dana Cooper, RN, who will share the importance of AED equipment and will provide us with the instructions needed to use an AED in an emergency.

We welcome Omar Nawaz who will provide us with information on A.I. Omar is currently the Global Executive Director of the Applied Artificial Intelligence Association (AAIA), where he leads initiatives to promote the adoption and advancement of AI technologies across industries. Fascinated by emerging technologies like AI and blockchain, Omar explores their transformative impact on how we work, learn, and grow personally.

For over 27 years, Omar Nawaz has led successful businesses of all sizes, from startups to Fortune 500 companies. His passion is building and scaling businesses from the ground up. As a serial entrepreneur, he has scaled product lines from $0 to $100 million at Cisco and Microsoft and launched multiple companies.

Omar holds an MBA and an MS in Engineering from San Jose State University, a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Utah, and an Executive Certificate in Strategy and Innovation from MIT. 

We are celebrating 40 years of the Rotary Club of Livermore Valley making a positive difference in our community! Club members who have been around for years will share the story of our club's launch and impact for decades.

We welcome David Weisberger, Community Outreach Supervisor for the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District, who will give us an update on LARPD. Join the conversation as we hear about new trails, programs, and outreach.

Christine Dillman, Executive Director of Tri-Valley Haven, will share the good work of this nonprofit organization. Tri-Valley Haven serves adults and children who have experienced domestic violence, sexual assault, or homelessness in the Tri-Valley area.

We welcome Las Positas College Community Education staff, Megan Garcia and Tracy Peterson, who will tell us about the Maryin Ave STEAM Summer Program at Las Positas College. This program received funding from the Rotarian Foundation of Livermore.

We will enjoy breakfast at the Livermore Rodeo Grounds while hearing an update of the philanthropic work of the Livermore Rodeo Foundation and getting a preview of the Livermore Rodeo! Longtime Rotarian and Rodeo Foundation member Kathleen Minser will be our host.

We welcome Sherri Souza, President of the Livermore Chamber of Commerce. Sherri will update us on the lively economic and community events in Livermore.
