History

The Rotary Club of Livermore Valley was founded on April 9, 1985 and chartered by Rotary International on May 31, 1985 as Club Number 22861. Members of the Rotary Club of Livermore (the noon club) saw the need to form an additional Rotary Club in Livermore, particularly one that would meet in the morning.  Those insightful men encouraged 45 members of the community to become sunrise Rotarians, which at the time, was the largest number of members ever chartered as a new Rotary club. Today, our club membership is approximately 55 Rotarians.

Our first President, Bill Webster, brought us Rotary experience having been a member of several other Rotary clubs.  We very quickly became a cohesive organization that ventured into small community service projects that our budget would allow.  Those first few years were instrumental in establishing the personality of our club as an organization whose meetings were fun, lively and full of camaraderie.  Those traditions continue today at the Livermore Valley Rotary Club’s Tuesday morning meetings.  You are welcome to join us at 7:00 AM at Beeb's Sports Bar & Grill at the Las Positas Golf Course in Livermore.
